The Hindu Business Line Covers Janatha Group's Expansion into Green Energy

The Hindu Business Line has reported on Janatha Group's strategic expansion into renewable energy infrastructure, marking a significant step in the group's long-term sustainability roadmap. The initiative centres on the installation of rooftop and ground-mounted solar arrays across seven of the group's processing and manufacturing facilities.

The planned solar capacity across all sites totals 4.2 MW, projected to offset approximately 40% of the group's aggregate industrial power consumption. The move is expected to reduce the group's annual energy expenditure by ₹3.2 Crore while cutting Scope 2 carbon emissions by an estimated 3,800 tonnes of CO₂ per year.

The coverage notes that Janatha Group's green energy push aligns with a broader trend of South Indian food processing conglomerates investing in on-site renewables — both to reduce operating costs and to strengthen ESG credentials with export buyers who increasingly require environmental reporting from their supply-chain partners.
